If it wasn't for Steve Jobs and his work with Apple Computer, we might not be able to easily read this website. We'd have to log in to a text-based computer. Steve Jobs opened up the world to the place where today anybody can give a message to the world. Of equal or greater impact than the printing press.

So whatever he did with his money, I know I'm grateful to him for the gift he gave to ordinary people - global communication in a usable interface.

Dear Marilyn,

Thank you for your inquiry. You have CLC's permission to show the Roger Williams documentary. We would appreciate knowing where you show it and how many view it. We also ask that this web site be provided if anyone wishes to obtain a copy of the DVD or accompanying study guide. At the end of the DVD is the email address for Walt Pontynen. From our web site you will note that he has passed away so that email address is no longer valid. We'd appreciate if you would therefore direct all inquiries to CLC's web site instead of Walt's email address.

Thank you for your support for liberty of conscience and blessings on your event showing the documentary,
Karen Scott

Perhaps it "shouldn't" matter, but it does. The fact is that many conservative Christians don't consider Mormons to be Christians at all while many more see them as just another cult with exceptionally nutty ideas. Mormonism is a both an advantage (their people line up behind them and GIVE money) and a drag on the candidacies of both Romney and Huntsman. I suspect that if Rick Perry gets in, he'll give Romney a real run for his money -- perhaps with Bachman as VP. If Jeb Bush decides to get in at the convention, he'll sweep them all aside. Just my two cents.

In either case, I would reply that OF COURSE it should matter. A person's values and ideology are of the most central importance in reckoning their fitness for any task. The fact that there is no "religious test" or proscriptive oath certainly doesn't mean that voters can't or shouldn't take one's religious views or practices into consideration.
